The suspect now identified as Jarvis Lewis Carroll, age 21, of Lexington has been arrested without incident at 225 Tucson Way in Davidson County. He will be charged with the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell. The Davidson County Sheriffs Office assisted LPD at the scene of the arrest on Tucson Way.
During the month of July 2025, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports regarding the theft of building materials from residential construction sites, particularly those involving newly constructed homes. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects, Guillermo Trujillo Garcia and Kayla Danielle Hernandez.

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Betty Fowler Collins, of 4437 Kennedy Road, Thomasville, NC was arrested with warrants drawn by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 22, 2025, Jesse Allen Black was arrested on an additional 19 counts of felonious obtaining property by false pretenses and two counts of felonious worthless checks after an additional investigation was completed by members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. The 19 victims have reported Black had been taking deposits of U.S. Currency for buildings to be built by Triad Carports, and the work was never started or completed. This time, there were approximately $285,726.00 loss for these 19 victims from deposits given to Black. Black also had issued two checks totalling $47,140.00 to businesses, and there were insufficient funds in the account to pay these two businesses.
Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the discovery of human remains at a local salvage yard in Lexington. According to an official press release, the incident occurred on May 14 at Leonard Salvage, located at 4471 Old US Highway 52.

Brian Coe was arrested on March 15, 2025 and taken to the Davidson County Magistrate’s Office and is scheduled to appear in court May 13, 2025.
A member of the Davidson County Board of Education is facing public outcry and multiple criminal charges after a head-on vehicle collision that resulted in injuries to a 10-year-old child. The incident, which occurred the evening of April 9, 2025, has prompted growing concern over public accountability and road safety.
The victim was identified as Jade Campsey, age 25, of Lexington. Officers quickly determined that the shooting occurred on Smith Avenue near Miller Street. The victim is being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. There are no current updates on her condition.
On Thursday, April 3, officers with the Lexington Police
Department responded to the Davidson County Courthouse, 110 West Center St, in reference to a single motor vehicle accident involving the courthouse building.
On March 6, 2025, Donna James was arrested and charged with one count of feloniously assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury. On March 25, 2025, Joshua Shane Sizemore was arrested for feloniously assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.
April 2, 2025 Jury Convicts Sylvester Thompson of First-Degree Murder and Robbery THOMASVILLE – A Davidson County jury has found Sylvester DeJesus Thompson guilty of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the 2019 homicide of Bennie Vines. On Friday, March 28, 2025, Superior Court Judge Alyson Grine sentenced Thompson to life without parole for the first-degree murder conviction.
